Allow your soul to take over

When Spirit Takes the Wheel

We are three-part beings mind, body, and soul, and each requires nourishment to thrive. Our bodies need food and water to sustain life. Our minds need new information to continue growing. And our souls need something just as essential: to be heard. When any part of us is neglected, true happiness becomes difficult to sustain. And isn’t happiness, at its core, what we are all seeking?

My journey within revealed so much to me. For over fifteen years I have been meditating on a regular basis. In 2007 I began dedicating an hour a day to meditation and I committed to that hour for over ten years. Today I mostly meditate for thirty minutes daily.

It took some time before I noticed changes but the first change I noticed, which was HUGE for me, is that my mind became more still. The static from rambling thoughts turned into singularity of thought. Do you know how much time that saved me in a day? I became more focused.

The next big change for me was the awareness of the spirit within. I always knew and believed in my soul, but now I had an awareness of feeling the power my body contained. Not every moment of every day in the beginning, but more and more over time this feeling of the power within me grew.

Over time, meditation became more than a practice, it became a relationship with me. The stillness I cultivated did not remove life’s challenges, but it gave me the capacity to meet them with greater awareness and resilience. As my mind grew quieter, my connection to the spirit within grew stronger. I began to sense a power inside me that I had always believed in but had never fully experienced.

What I did not yet realize was that this inner connection was preparing me for one of the most emotionally intense seasons of my life. By 2011, years of unprocessed pain began rising to the surface, asking to be acknowledged and released. At the same time, my body was healing from a physical injury, and my heart was carrying the weight of a deeply personal crisis within my family. The meditation that had once brought peace now opened the door to profound emotional clearing, and I found myself standing at the intersection of physical pain and emotional turmoil.

It was in that vulnerable space, exhausted, raw, and searching for relief, that I surrendered fully and turned inward once again, unaware that the very practice I leaned on for escape would soon reveal the most extraordinary moment of my life.

When I could not stand the pain any longer, I decided to take a hot bath and relax. It was a cold day in January in Pennsylvania, the day after a blizzard. The blanket of snow was a spectacular sight but not as good as what is about to happen. After my hot bath I wrapped myself in warmth and closed my eyes to meditate. I wanted to get away from the pain in my present.

After about twenty minutes I opened my eyes to the most glorious sight I have ever seen. In the reflection from the mirror across from me was this Being of Light consoling me. In the reflection this Being was leaning towards me with loving energy, partially holding me. Then we looked at each other directly and after a few seconds this Being retracted into the area of my heart. The best way I can describe seeing my Soul is true, unaltered love.

Since that day I am dedicated to helping people connect with their inner power, connecting with their soul because the truth is that when you allow your spirit to drive, there are no accidents.
